Finding the absolute best Bali villa with private pool for family of 4 in Uluwatu was our mission this past July, and I’m happy to report we nailed it. Our focus was more on unwinding by our own private pool. We even considered an Ubud eco-resort with bamboo architecture, which averaged $150/night in lush season (April–June), but the call of the Uluwatu cliffs was stronger for this trip.

Dining out was easy too. We’d heard about Seminyak vegan dinner spots with gluten-free menus charging $18–$25 per person in shoulder season (May), but Uluwatu had plenty of family-friendly options. For those planning a different kind of trip, traditional Bali yoga retreats for women in July are $1,200 for 7 days including meals and classes – something to keep in mind for a future solo escape! We also passed a Sidanu pet-friendly hotel with a dog playground, costing $140/night in peak season (July–August), which made us wish we’d brought our furry friend. And while we skipped the Tebali rice field cycling tours for couples ($45/person during low season, February–April) this time, it’s definitely on our list for a future visit without the kids. For now, our Uluwatu villa was perfect.
